About this Event
We, within the University and beyond, accumulated knowledge and understanding related to the challenges and opportunities that present themselves as we seek to develop the inner capacity to deal with our increasingly complex environment and challenges.
We have a vision of what needs to happen, and it is one that is founded in the belief that collaboration is the key to releasing the energies and creativity to bring about success. To achieve this, we need to access and engage with the abilities, qualities and skills we know exist among individuals, groups and Faculties within our university. One's that play crucial roles current and future roles in working towards developing opportunities within the university, its stakeholders and partners within our city and beyond.
John started off his career as a teacher and effectively still remains one at heart. He decided to set up the company after working as a Behavioural Support Head at a local authority, where he was frequently being asked to help out on mentoring programmes or to provide advice and coaching for others. He holds a degree in Psychology and a Post Graduate Qualification in Education Management Psychology. John is also a qualified NLP practitioner and a qualified deliverer of Awareness Training - (Domestic Violence).
John now uses his wealth of knowledge of human behaviour and experience in coaching and development to deliver a bespoke, confidential and user-friendly service to clients in the public and private sectors.
The outcomes we wish to achieve on the day:
- Bringing colleagues together to share experiences and find new collaborations when it comes to thinking about interdisciplinary/multidisciplinary learning.
- Making sure that colleagues recognise the resources at STEAMhouse to support their development
- Addressing challenges, they may face when it comes to student’ mindsets and how we can help through a module to grow their thinking and confidence
- Consider the idea of a STEAM Mindset module to develop as part of STEAMhouse toolkits which they can embed into their curriculum
