Course Purpose
Overview of Moving and Handling of People & Objects Train the Trainer (1 Day Pre Course Self Directed Study & 1 Day Classroom Attendance)
Moving and Handling of People & Objects CPD Train the Trainer provides learners with an extensive Moving & Handling skill set so that they can identify how to safely move people, objects and safely use equipment. On completing this course learners will have the knowledge, understanding and skills required to be able to deliver Moving and Handling of People & Objects training in their healthcare workplace. The course is designed for experienced healthcare staff working within a care environment.
Learner Entry RequirementsLearners must have a relevant care related qualification accredited/ awarded or working towards a Level 3 or above.
Working in a Senior position
Previous Moving and Handling Qualification/ CPD Certificate advantageous but not essential.
2 Years’ Experience of Moving and Handling of People & Objects in a care Setting.
The physical capability of practical people and objects Moving and Handling.
We would recommend learners to work towards Level 3 Award in Education and Training and/or Level 3 Certificate in assessing competence in the work environment but is not essential for this course as your trainer skills will be assessed.
Accreditation
This Moving & Handling People & Objects Train the Trainer has been accredited by the CPD Accreditation Group and is aligned to the Core Skills Training Framework (CSTF).
Assessment Methods
Moving & Handling of People & Objects Train the Trainer is internally assessed. Each learner is required to complete the pre course preparation prior to attending the 1 day classroom train the trainer course. This will all be emailed to you 7 -14 days with your online course login details prior to attending the course. During the classroom attendance you will participate in risk assessing and demonstrating practical activities throughout the course. There will be peer observations for classroom assessments and a 10-minute micro-teach session at the end of the course regarding the course subject.

Learning Outcomes:
1) Be able to define the term Manual Handling
2) Understand employers and employees responsibilities, legal obligations under relevant national Health & Safety legislation, the Manual Handling Operation Regulations and local policies and procedures.
3) Identify how to carry out a Risk Assessment and reduce the risk of injury prior to undertaking manual handling tasks
4) Understand the Principles of good back care and the consequences of poor manual handling practice
5) Be aware of the types of equipment, and testing requirements for lifting equipment associated with moving & handling of people safely.
6) Be able to train others in Moving and Handling of People & Objects practical group training session in their healthcare workplace.
7) Completed The Practical Trainer Accredited Course #1001016 online prior to attending the face to face classroom course.
7) Presenting Information - 10-minute Micro-Teach trainer assessment
Who Provides The Training?
All our courses are delivered by Trainers that have the required certification, knowledge and experience within a Healthcare Setting and the online element is delivered through our accredited online learning system.
Course Duration:
12 hour Course delivered over 2 days (1 Day to complete pre course preparation Our Online Accredited Course The Practical Trainer #1001016, the trainer resource, Planning and Preparation to deliver a 10 minute micro-teach trainer presentation prior to attending the 1 day Moving & Handling of People & Objects Train the Trainer Course with completing Risk Assessment Activities, Practical Teaching Methods and Practical Assessments including delivering your 10 minute micro-teach assessment)
Where the training happens - We deliver this training course at our training Centre in Birmingham or at your workplace.
Certification - On successful completion of the course, attendees will be issued with an accredited certificate by The CPD Accreditation Group valid for 2 years.
Approved Trainer Membership - You will be registered as an Approved Trainer with Passion4Training for 2 years at no extra cost. You will receive exclusive access to our Approved Trainer HUB via the website where you will have support and resources available for 2 years. You will be able to issue accredited certificates to your learners and will have your course quality assured by our Quality Assurance Compliance Team on annual basis. You will receive a Quality Assurance Report to evidence your training is compliant with the required trainer standards and is Quality Assured. You will also be able to purchase and deliver further accredited training courses through our trainer resource packs in a wide range of healthcare subjects that we have available.
You will receive a Passion4Training Moving & Handling of People & Objects Trainer Resource Pack that is accredited and be able to deliver in-house training at your place of work this includes all course administration paperwork, powerpoint presentation, resources and handouts including personalised certificates for you to customise to meet your organisation requirements and needs. The resource pack also includes a mapping/ alignment document of skills and knowledge to legislation and regulatory bodies.
Important Information
The Customer agrees before purchasing the Train the Trainer Course(s) /Trainer Pack(s) and their contents are suitable for their purposes and meet their internal/ external compliance requirements.
COVID-19 Important Information:
We have implemented necessary measures to ensure all our learners remain safe when attending open courses at our training centre. Social Distancing Measures do apply and we are only allowing a maximum of 5 learners in our training room at any time.
On arrival to our training room, you must adhere to social distancing and will be expected to use the alcohol hand gel or to wash your hands as per guidelines that is available and you will be expected to have your temperature taken on arrival, we do advise a face-covering whilst attending our sessions. When carrying out practical sessions you will be provided with a face mask and gloves to ensure safety is maintained and seating is in line with our social distancing measures.
Your contact details will be taken on a training declaration form to ensure we comply with the necessary track and trace measures, however, we must stress if you are presenting with symptoms you must not attend training and we will rearrange your booking and if you do arrive at our training room displaying symptoms then you will not be allowed to attend the training session.
* Your safety is important to us and We aim to provide as much notice as possible if a Training Session has to be cancelled by email however due to the current situation with COVID19 training sessions could be cancelled at short notice (on the day) if the allocated trainer has symptoms of coronavirus, has been in close contact with someone who has tested positive for coronavirus or the trainer receives a positive test result for coronavirus. We will endeavour to arrange for another trainer to deliver the following course however in the event we cannot arrange another trainer to deliver the training session we will reschedule your course to another date available and we apologise in advance if this happens. You will receive an email with full details as soon as possible and therefore please do check your inbox and junk/spam folders. The on-site staff at the CIBA building will be informed and a notice will be available on our centre door.
