Four-week fiction-writing classSundays, February 1-22

Join us for a four-week deep dive into playful approaches to storytelling. We'll read flash fiction for inspiration, experiment with writing prompts, and talk about what it means for a writer to "get away with it". Students will have the opportunity to share their work. A great chance to jump start your most wild ideas. All levels welcome.
This four-week course is $160. Classes will take place at Stone Soup Books (402 W. Main Street in Waynesboro).

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR:
Samar Farah Fitzgerald is a fiction writer and teacher. Her work has been published in The O. Henry Prize Stories, New England Review, The Southern Review, Witness, the Southwest Review, and elsewhere. She has received fellowships and awards from MacDowell, the Ragdale Foundation, the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts, and the Virginia Commission for the Arts. Fitzgerald has twice served on the fiction committee for the Arab American Book Award. She lives in the Shenandoah Valley with her husband and two children, and has been teaching creative writing at James Madison University for more than fifteen years.
