Six Contemporary Artists is rooted in the story of Maltese Art, retold through a contemporary lens.
The exhibition’s title is a direct reference to the 1991 anthology of essays ‘Malta: Six Modern Artists’. This exhibition is a reimagining of the publication, retelling the story of contemporary art through an all-female collective.
Like the original book, it is by no means an accurate representation of the vast cultural ecosystem which exists today. It is rather, a vignette into six Malta-based artists practicing now.
Exhibition Dates: 18th September – 17th October 2026
