Join us for the opening of "Yearning to Breathe Free: Am Immigration Journey”!
Since its founding, the United States has been shaped by generations of immigrants. Over the past 250 years, millions have arrived on its shores in pursuit of opportunity and the promise of the American Dream. In bringing their languages, customs, traditions, and cuisines, they have woven together a rich and distinctly American culture. The same story unfolds in the Glens Falls–Queensbury region, where immigration has played a vital role in shaping the community’s growth, identity, and heritage.
This exhibit explores the profound impact of immigration on both our region and the nation, while celebrating the resilience, determination, and enduring spirit of those who journeyed to a new world in search of a better life.
Celebrate with free admission all day, plus light refreshments, family crafts, and a special Storytime at 11:30 a.m. featuring "Yearning to Breathe Free", the Chapman Museum’s newest book starring Zopher the Mouse.
