Homecoming: Return of the Mothership
2nd Anniversary Fundraiser Open Mic
Join us as every.Word Poetry celebrates two years of building community through spoken word. Homecoming: Return of the Mothership is an evening of poetry, celebration, and fundraising to support another year of accessible, community-centered programming through The Poet House.
Whether you've been with us since the very beginning or this is your first time at the mic, you're invited to come home.
The evening will feature:
- An open mic for poets and musicians
- A send-off celebrating our every.Word poets competing at the Blackberry Peach National Poetry Slam via a mini slam showcaseA live art auction
- Cake and a champagne toast with Martinelli's
- Opportunities to support The Poet House through donations throughout the night
Community Prompt:
"every.Word I wanna say to you..."
Write a poem inspired by the people, places, or communities that have shaped you. Share your love letter to home, to Austin, to every.Word, or to the person who helped you find your voice.
Before, during, and after the show, gather with community at The Butterfly Bar and enjoy food from Patrizi's.
Additional Information
- Suggested donation: $10 (Pay what you can. Every contribution supports The Poet House.)
- Drink specials available at The Butterfly Bar.
- In the event of rain or temperatures below 65°, programming will move indoors to The Butterfly Bar or the Eloise Stage. In cases of unsafe road conditions, the event will be canceled.
