RSVP REQUIREDPJALS is offering this workshop on nonviolent deescalation skills and event safety planning in support of Coeur d'Alene's upcoming Pride in the Park. Come learn how safety planning and personnel trained in deescalation can help create a successful social justice, peace, and liberation event. We'll cover nonviolence principles and guidelines; strategies and techniques to prevent and defuse potentially volatile scenarios; and how to organize a safety team.
This workshop will begin to prepare Pride in the Park planners; organizers will also hold an in-person practice and prep session to complete the training.
Useful for protesters, organizers, and folks thinking of volunteering in a safety capacity for any social justice cause.
