Welcome!
Info: Welcome to the 3rd Annual Joining Forces Conference! What is Joining Forces all about and how can it help you help Idaho's veterans?
π: 09:00 AM - 10:30 AM
Veteran Benefits & Eligibility
Info: Do you know the difference between Veterans Health Administration (VHA) and Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA)? Who qualifies for VA healthcare, benefits, and burial? How can veterans access these resources? Our panel of experts will answer all of these questions and more!
π: 10:30 AM - 11:30 AM
Veteran Homelessness & Housing
Info: There is a full spectrum of housing needs. Some veterans are facing a one-time situation and need help paying rent, while sadly others are struggling to find a roof over their heads. In this panel, meet an array of community organizations helping those veterans.
π: 11:30 AM - 01:00 PM
Split Lunch Service & Special Presentation
Info: Lunch will be provided onsite by the veteran-owned Hoakie Smoakes BBQ Catering. Due to space limitations, the dining room can only accommodate half of our group at a time. As a result, lunch will be served in two sessions: one group will enjoy their meal while the other attends a special presentation in the auditorium. 1st Session - 11:30-12:15 / 2nd Session - 12:15-1:00
π: 01:00 PM - 02:30 PM
Veteran Mental Health Issues & Resources
Info: Discussion focused on veteran mental health issues and resources available in Idaho. This panel will bring together experts, veterans, and advocates to explore the unique challenges faced by our veterans, including PTSD, transition to civilian life, and access to mental health services.
π: 02:30 PM - 03:30 PM
Community Connectedness & Veteran Camaraderie
Info: Veterans want to connect with other veterans and find the community and camaraderie they experienced while serving in the military. This panel is just a small glimpse of organizations in the community offering those connections but also going the extra step to connect veterans with the resources we have discussed today.
π: 03:30 PM - 04:00 PM
Governor's Challenge for Veteran Suicide Prevention
Info: Everyone is suicide prevention! It is our job to help veterans with resources before they get to a critical situation. That's what the Governor's Challenge is all about. It serves three missions: 1. Find the Veteran, 2. Connect to Support, 3. Intervention Resources and Training. Meet the Idaho Team Leaders for this VA/SAMSHA sponsored program.
π: 04:00 PM - 04:30 PM
Wrap Up - The Joining Forces Mission in Idaho
Info: As service providers and community members it is our job to help veterans find the right resource for a veteran's particular needs. One single organization can't do it all but by Joining Forces and working together we can each do our part to assist veterans from ALL generations to obtain the benefits they have earned for their service and connect them with resources they never dreamed were available to them.
