AS OF MONDAY JUNE 22 AT 5:05 PM THIS EVENT IS FULL WITH 8 TOTAL. WE HAVE A WAITLIST OF 4 AVAILABLE (please see discussion comments.)
I've reserved two study rooms at the Orange Branch Library:
Study Room 1: Mahj Squad 1
Study Room 2: Mahj Squad 2
We currently have space for 8 players total (4 per room), including me, so there are only 7 player spots available for this first gathering. Once full, a waitlist of 4 players will be available by commenting "WAITLIST."
To participate, please:
✅ RSVP "Going" if the event is "FULL" please comment WAITLIST.
✅ Have a basic knowledge of American Mahjong
✅ Bring your 2026 National Mah Jongg League (NMJL) card, as we will be playing by the official NMJL American Mahjong rules
We'll have 2½ hours of play time, and if everyone is interested, we can rotate between rooms during the session to meet and play with different people.
Mahjong Sets & Supplies
For this first meetup, we'll need enough equipment for two tables. I will be bringing one complete American Mahjong set, including tiles, racks with pushers, mat, and dice. If you've RSVP'd please comment if you can bring another set/accessories.
Need a 2026 NMJL Card?
The National Mah Jongg League store is currently experiencing technical issues with its credit card processor and is directing customers to purchase cards through its Amazon store. As a result, some Amazon orders appear to be taking longer than usual to arrive. Please see their website for a direct official link to their Amazon store.
