What is true protection? Safe-guarding the mind.In this public talk Hojin Sensei will open an enquiry: what is true protection for the world? For our life? Are there protector beings? All of the Buddha’s teachings are considered to part of our refuge to protect us from ourselves, from our own lack of skill, even as as we are learning to be skillful and not create harm. We need protection in guiding our alertness and goodwill and to do whatever we can to maintain this goodwill at all times. Let us look at training and Zen practices to raise and safeguard the mind that seeks liberation for all beings— the mind that may have brought you here.
This event is one of two teachings with Hojin Sensei in Christchurch, the other being a workshop held at the Opawa Zendo on Saturday January 11th. Hojin will also lead a meditation retreat at Mt Hutt, Canterbury, 12-18 January.
