A day to think holistically about how we integrate evangelistic ministries into mission and ministry that engages with contemporary environmental concerns.
We will explore topics such as how Christian hope can support those struggling with eco-anxiety; new opportunities to engage with our communities in our outdoor spaces and churchyards; facilitating communities that are taking action; “green” faith for children and young people, and how to integrate “green” good practice into our welcome. The day will include tutor input, discussion, and storytelling. Weather and timetable permitting, we may go outside for a short part of the programme.
We expect the day to be particularly valuable to churches working hard on good environmental practices such as Eco Church, and who are concerned to hold these ministries together with other aspects of church life. Equally others may have strong evangelistic ministries but are new to engaging in ways which connect with environmental concerns.
Overall the challenge is to integrate, to explore how we share good news in both word and action against the background of contemporary environmental challenges.
