Eucharist with the Blessing of Oils and Renewal of Ministerial Commitment

It would be lovely to see you at Christ Church on Maundy Thursday for the annual Renewal of Ministerial Vows and Blessing of Oils. Everyone – lay, licensed, and ordained – is welcome, as we come together to renew and celebrate our shared ministry as the people of God in the diocese of Oxford. It would be particularly good to have members of church ministry teams, lay and ordained. Clergy and Licensed Lay Ministers (licensed or with permission to officiate) are warmly invited to robe and process. As in previous years, there will be a scratch choir open to all – clergy, LLMs and friends – with rehearsal before the service.

Coffee and pastries will be served after the service in St Aldate's, across the road from Christ Church. I do hope you will stay to enjoy fellowship together after the service.

During the service, oils for our ministry in the year ahead will be consecrated. These will be available (pre-bottled) to collect immediately after the service. Should you need more oils during the year, these are available from Christ Church.

Parking will be available at Christ Church on the Broadwalk (visitors with access requirements may find it easiest to be dropped off at Tom Gate or use the blue badge parking spaces on St Aldates and Pembroke Square). Answers to further FAQs can be found at Chrism mass - Diocese of Oxford.
