A monthly intergenerational event to learn how we can fight light pollution and bring back the night sky.
About this Event

Calling all moon lovers, night wanderers, and curious minds of every age! Step into the magic of the evening with our Night Rangers as we head up to the rooftop for a telescope view of our closest celestial neighbor—the Moon. Known as Luna in Latin, this ancient companion has quietly shaped life on Earth for billions of years, from guiding the tides to stabilizing our planet’s rhythms.

Together, we’ll explore the Moon’s dramatic origins, uncover its influence on life here at home, and look ahead to the new space race to return—and even settle—on its surface. Along the way, enjoy hands-on, intergenerational activities designed to spark curiosity and wonder for participants of all ages.

Night Rangers, a community science program of the New York Society for Ethical Culture, invites you to rediscover the beauty of the night sky while learning about light pollution and its impact on ecosystems, human health, and our shared environment.

Come for the science, stay for the awe—and don’t forget to look up. 🌙

Bring your imagination and become part of a team committed to making a visible difference in our city and bringing back the night sky.
