About this Event

Ethical fundraising is the cornerstone of every successful and sustainable nonprofit organization. In this session, participants will explore the core principles of ethical fundraising, including transparency, accountability, donor intent, confidentiality, and stewardship. We’ll examine how to navigate ethical challenges, avoid conflicts of interest, and make values-based decisions that protect both your organization and the communities you serve.

Whether you’re a seasoned development professional or new to fundraising, this training will help you align your daily work with the highest standards of professionalism and trustworthiness. Participants will leave with practical tools for decision-making, communication, and ethical leadership in donor relations and fundraising strategy.

Why It Matters:
Ethics are at the heart of public trust in philanthropy. Donors give because they believe their gifts will be used responsibly and for the intended purpose. When fundraisers lead with integrity, they not only strengthen their organization’s reputation but also build lasting relationships that advance the mission.

As part of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) Global network, GSAFP upholds and promotes AFP’s Code of Ethical Standards, a comprehensive guide that defines responsible fundraising conduct worldwide. This session reinforces AFP’s commitment to empowering fundraisers to act ethically, ensuring that generosity leads to genuine and lasting community impact.
