E.S.P. - A Night Of High Energy Contemporary LIVE JAZZ
About this Event
E.S.P. are bringing their high-energy contemporary jazz to the Van Dyck Music Club - the Capital Region's home for 'Pasta, Beer, & Jazz' - for a night of incredible original live music. Their recordings are part jazz, part funk, and part world music - it's real jazz, but you won’t need your GPS to follow it!!
Their 2009 album Time’s Up! (Spider Records) was featured in JAZZ IZ magazine. In 2010, the record won a Syracuse Area Music Award (SAMMY) for Best Jazz Recording and continues to receive airplay in more than 120 cities worldwide. In 2012, E.S.P. was voted “Best Jazz Group” in the Syracuse New Timesannual reader’s poll.
Their 2011 release Reach (Spider Records) wasproduced by Grammy Award-winning bassist Jimmy Haslip of The Yellowjackets and features three tracks with legendary keyboardist Jeff Lorber. Their follow up album, Zero Gravity, was released to critical acclaim, winning the band its third consecutive SAMMY award.
Most recently, E.S.P. released its seventh record featuring all original music composed bythe band. The album, Ready or Not, is available at www.espjazz.com.
E.S.P. is made up of Matt Vacanti on Bass, John Magnante on Guitar, Evan DuChene on Drums, & Tony Greene on Sax, and the quartet has opened for many big jazz names including Chris Botti, The Rippingtons, and Jeff Kashiwa’s Sax Pack, among others. Members have also backed jazz greats including The New York Voices, Joey DeFrancisco, and Martha Reeves.
