and historic neighborhoods in Cleveland!
About this Event

The interactive walking tours are led by knowledgeable guides that will share fascinating facts about historical assets and key figures that helped make Cleveland a special place. You'll learn about architecture, cultural and neighborhood development, historic preservation, and Cleveland's role in American history. Along the way, you'll meet important figures from Cleveland’s past, portrayed by actors and actresses, who will share with you their stories.

The Erie Street Cemetery Tour meets at the E9th Street entrance. Please arrive 15 minutes early as the tour starts promptly.

About the Tour: Established in 1826, Erie Street Cemetery serves as the burial ground for many of Cleveland’s pioneer families and military veterans of the Revolutionary War and Civil War. The tour will begin inside the East 9th Street entrance with a conversation about the lives of Cleveland’s first permanent settlers. Among the tour’s highlights will be the stories of 19th century civil rights pioneer John Malvin, Native American Joc-O-Sot also known as Walking Bear and Rebecca Carter who along with husband Lorenzo, were the first permanent, white settlers in Cleveland.

RESERVATIONS are requested but not required, walk-ups the day of tour are welcomed.
