TAKE A HIKE® offers FREE in-person, guided walking tours of unique
and historic neighborhoods in Cleveland!
About this Event

The interactive walking tours are led by knowledgeable guides that will share fascinating facts about historical assets and key figures that helped make Cleveland a special place. You'll learn about architecture, cultural development, historic preservation, and Cleveland's role in American history. Along the way, you'll meet important figures from Cleveland’s past, portrayed by actors and actresses, who will share with you their stories.

The University Circle Tour meets in at the picnic tables across from the Cleveland Museum of Natural History. Please arrive 15 minutes early as the tour starts promptly.

About the Tour: University Circle emerged in the late 1880s when Western Reserve College and the Case Institute of Technology moved to the Circle. Its history is even more fascinating as a residential neighborhood, a transit hub, and a concentration of great public spaces. Today, University Circle is Cleveland’s largest concentration of economic, culture, education, and medical facilities and was recently named the Nation’s top cultural district.

RESERVATIONS are requested but not required, walk-ups the day of tour are welcomed.

TAKE A HIKE® is a program of Historic Gateway Neighborhood Corporation with generous support from Ohio & Erie Canalway and Cuyahoga Arts & Culture.
