Scientific experiments and learning for Home Ed families
About this Event

Our Environmental Science Club is perfect to explore scientific theories through hands on experiments, discussion and practical learning.

The club is ideal for those families choosing to home educate and will cater for a mixed age range. Each session will start with an introduction to a new topic before the children get hands on with an experiment. There will be a chance to discuss the findings of the experiment before moving on to a second practical experiment. The session will close with a chance to draw conclusions. Different aspects of science such as fair testing, hypothesis and data collection will be weaved into the sessions.

Please note that many parts of the session will take place outside within the centre grounds so please ensure you all come dressed for the weather and in appropriate footwear.

The club runs on the first Thursday of the month with a different theme each session. The dates for 2026 are as follows:

January 8th (please note this the 2nd Thursday of the month): Habitats

February 5th: Climate Change

March 5th: Camouflage

April 2nd: Eggs

May 7th: Native Wildlife

June 4th: Green Energy

July 2nd: Pond Life

Please note there is no session in August

September 3rd: Butterflies

October 1st: Extreme Weather

November 5th: Geology rocks

December 3rd: Festive Science

Themes are subject to change where necessary.

Advance booking is essential.
