This two-day scientific meeting will focus on how environmental and natural hazards affect cancer prevention and control, bringing together researchers, students, stakeholders, and community partners to share evidence, discuss research gaps, and promote collaboration to support effective practice, policy, and workforce development.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS
The Environmental Risks and Cancer Research Conference 2026 (the “Conference”) is organized by the University of Puerto Rico Comprehensive Cancer Center (“UPRCCC”). By registering for or participating in the Conference, participants acknowledge and agree to the following Terms and Conditions.
REGISTRATION AND ATTENDANCE
Registration is subject to availability and completion of all applicable registration requirements. The UPRCCC reserves the right to deny, suspend, or cancel any registration when necessary to protect the integrity, safety, security, operations, or mission of the Conference.
PAYMENT POLICY
Registration fees, sponsorship payments, exhibitor fees, and other Conference-related payments shall be made through approved payment methods established by the UPRCCC. Registration is not considered complete until payment has been successfully processed and confirmed.
REFUND POLICY
All registration fees are non-refundable.
Registration fees will not be refunded due to:
• Scheduling conflicts.
• Travel delays or cancellations.
• Personal circumstances.
• Failure to attend the Conference.
• Changes in speakers, panelists, agenda, session topics, or program schedule.
• Participant dissatisfaction with Conference content.
• Weather conditions that do not result in cancellation of the Conference.
Notwithstanding the foregoing, the UPRCCC reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to issue full or partial refunds under exceptional circumstances, including:
• Cancellation of the Conference by the UPRCCC.
• Circumstances where a refund is required by applicable law.
• Circumstances where a refund is required under Eventbrite policies.
• Other extraordinary situations determined by the UPRCCC on a case-by-case basis.
Requests for refund consideration must be submitted in writing.
CONFERENCE MODIFICATIONS
The UPRCCC reserves the right to modify the Conference agenda, schedule, speakers, panelists, session topics, venue, format, or related activities whenever circumstances warrant. Such modifications shall not constitute grounds for refunds or claims against the UPRCCC.
CONFERENCE CANCELLATION OR POSTPONEMENT
The UPRCCC reserves the right to cancel, postpone, reschedule, relocate, or modify the Conference due to operational, financial, regulatory, public health, safety, weather-related, or other circumstances beyond its reasonable control. In such cases, the UPRCCC shall determine the appropriate course of action, including whether refunds will be issued.
PHOTOGRAPHY, VIDEO, AND MEDIA RELEASE
By attending the Conference, participants grant the UPRCCC permission to photograph, record, livestream, videotape, or otherwise capture their image, likeness, voice, and participation. Such materials may be used by the UPRCCC for educational, scientific, academic, research, institutional, historical, promotional, and reporting purposes without compensation.
PRIVACY AND PERSONAL INFORMATION
The UPRCCC will collect only the information reasonably necessary to:
• Administer the Conference.
• Process registrations and payments.
• Issue attendance certificates.
• Communicate with participants.
• Comply with legal, fiscal, audit, and reporting obligations.
Information collected will be handled in accordance with applicable laws and institutional policies.
CODE OF CONDUCT
All participants are expected to conduct themselves in a professional, respectful, and lawful manner. The following is prohibited:
• Harassment.
• Discrimination.
• Threatening behavior.
• Disruptive conduct.
• Unlawful activities.
• Interference with Conference operations.
The UPRCCC reserves the right to remove any participant whose conduct is inconsistent with these standards.
LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
The UPRCCC shall not be responsible for:
• Travel expenses.
• Lodging expenses.
• Lost profits.
• Business interruptions.
• Personal property losses.
• Indirect damages.
• Consequential damages.
• Incidental damages.
Participation in the Conference is voluntary and at the participant’s own risk.
SCIENTIFIC INDEPENDENCE
Sponsorships, exhibitor participation, grants, institutional support, and financial contributions shall not influence:
• Scientific content.
• Educational programming.
• Speaker selection.
• Research priorities.
• Scientific conclusions.
• Conference recommendations.
The UPRCCC retains full and exclusive authority over all academic, scientific, educational, and programmatic aspects of the Conference.
NON-ENDORSEMENT OF SPONSORS AND EXHIBITORS
Participation as a sponsor, exhibitor, speaker, collaborator, or attendee shall not be construed as an endorsement by the UPRCCC of any:
• Product.
• Service.
• Technology.
• Treatment.
• Commercial activity.
• Organization.
• Position.
MEDICAL DISCLAIMER
Information presented during the Conference is intended solely for educational and scientific purposes. Nothing presented during the Conference constitutes medical advice, diagnosis, treatment recommendations, or professional healthcare services.
Participants should consult qualified healthcare professionals regarding individual medical conditions and treatment decisions.
FORCE MAJEURE
The UPRCCC shall not be liable for delays, interruptions, modifications, postponements, or cancellation of the Conference resulting from circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to:
• Natural disasters.
• Hurricanes.
• Earthquakes.
• Public health emergencies.
• Government actions.
• Utility failures.
• Technological failures.
• Labor disputes.
• Civil disturbances.
• Acts of terrorism.
INSTITUTIONAL AUTHORITY
Nothing contained in these Terms and Conditions shall be construed as limiting the statutory authority, fiduciary responsibilities, governance powers, operational authority, or administrative discretion of the University of Puerto Rico Comprehensive Cancer Center.
GOVERNING LAW
These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico.
ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS
By registering for, attending, sponsoring, exhibiting, presenting, or otherwise participating in the Conference, each participant acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and Conditions.
Eventbrite service fees, payment processing fees, credit card charges, banking fees, administrative fees, and similar transaction costs may be non-refundable, even in circumstances where a registration fee is refunded, to the extent permitted by applicable law and Eventbrite policies.
