English Country Feast

Calling all “Downton Abbey” fans! Get whisked away to the English countryside as we put together a Cotswolds-inspired meal that’s perfect for brunch or supper. Join food writer and chef-instructor Shawnie Kelley as she shares recipes collected from her years living and working all around Great Britain. You will learn the techniques for making a proper vinaigrette and put together a lovely Fig and Stilton Salad with Port Wine Vinaigrette. The Shephard’s Pie we’ll make is not your run-of-the-meal casserole. You will practice piping the mashed potatoes into fancy swirls on top of an aromatic lamb and vegetable mixture which will dazzle your guests. And dessert will equally impress, as you flambé cherries in cherry liqueur and serve the boozy sauce over pound cake and ice cream. At the end of class, enjoy your meal with a traditional Pimm’s Cup.
