Working in partnership towards Ending Violence Against Women & Girls in Newry, Mourne & Down
Showcase Event, 25 March 2026, Canal Court Hotel Newry
Violence against women and girls (VAWG) causes immeasurable harm to victims and society. Feeling safe should be a given but women and girls do not always feel safe in Northern Ireland. This needs to change.
Over the last year Newry, Mourne & Down District Council has been working with a range of partners to develop activities aimed at educating communities, promoting safe and healthy relationships and helping women and girls to feel safe. This work has included funding support to 16 community-led projects funded via our EVAWG (Ending Violence Against Women & Girls) Local Change Fund.
Join us on 25 March 2026 to learn more about how we are working to make our District a safer place for women & girls, challenge behaviours and change attitudes.
The Executive Office Ending Violence Against Women and Girls (EVAWAG) Momentum Funding has supported Newry, Mourne & Down District Council with this work and the delivery of the EVAWG Local Change Fund.
