End the Plastic Tide: Riverside cleanup & waste audit

Join Greenpeace Malaysia and Kebun-Kebun Sungai Klang for a riverside cleanup. It might not plug the plastic leak, but it's a first step!
About this Event

Roll up our sleeves and help restore the riverbank, just a little bit, while uncovering the story behind the waste that ends up in our waterways.

This isn't just a cleanup. Together, we'll collect, sort and audit the litter we find, contributing to citizen science that helps identify the most common types of waste and where they may have come from. Every bottle, wrapper and fragment tells a story. Understanding that story is the first step towards preventing it.

Whether you're passionate about the environment, curious about plastic pollution, or simply looking for a meaningful way to spend your weekend, everyone is welcome!

What we'll be doing?

• Riverside plastic cleanup
• Waste sorting and audit
• Learning a bit more about plastic polution and solutions
• Connecting with nature and the Greenpeace Malaysia & Kebun-kebun Sungai Klang community

What to bring?

• Reusable water bottle
• Hat and sunscreen
• Comfortable long-sleeve clothing you don't mind getting a little muddy
• Covered shoes or boots
• Gloves (if you have them)
• Mosquito repellent

Why it matters?

Plastic pollution doesn't begin in our rivers or water ways; it travels there. By documenting what we find, we're doing more than removing litter! In fact, we're helping build evidence that can inform better design, policies and habits that keep waste out of nature in the first place.

Let's work towards waste-free waters, one cleanup, one audit and one conversation at a time.
