About this Event
Empowering Women in Leadership: can you have it all?
Women are told that they can have it all, the career, relationship, family and social life but is it actually possible and is it realistic? Research does show that people with a good work/life balance are less stressed, more satisifed with their jobs, and overall happier and healthier.* But how do you achieve this balance? And is it different for everyone?
Join us for an inspiring panel event discussing how three inspirational women have navigated leadership roles while balancing personal and professional life successfully. Learn from our experienced panelists and be part of the discussion on women's empowerment.
This event is a fundrasier in support of Homeward Bound and Jess Styles' #HBIslandsky2025 voyage to Antartica and proudly sponsorded by Kiah Consulting.

Who am I?
Hi, my name is Jess Styles. I was accepted into the global initiative – Homeward Bound – which aims to support women with STEMM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics and Medicine) backgrounds to evolve into incredible leaders. I was named as one of 108 women lucky enough to be accepted into Homeward Bound #8 for 2023.
I have undergrad degrees in both Applied Science in Human Biology and Psychology with a masters degree in Public and Social Policy. I use my degrees and experience to support communication in science to help get the message across, to the right people the right way. I have worked in a variety of areas and am passionate about empowering and mentoring others to take on the world.
Homeward Bound
Homeward Bound consists of a 12-month on-line program centred around Leadership, Visibility impact, STEMM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics and Medicine) and Strategy – with a global meet-up in Antarctica at the end. This is what this event is fundrasing for, it is a significant cost to undertake the program and to travel with the cohort to Antarctica.
The Homeward Bound goal is to give 10,000 women by 2036 the skill and will to lead with impact and influence for the greater good.
By connecting influential women and putting them through this leadership initiative and creating global collaboration, Homeward Bound will ensure that there is greater diversity at the global leadership table.
Antarctica voyage.
All funds from the event will support the round-trip to and from Canberra and the 16-night expedition. Each participant is required to raise the funds necessary to cover the ship’s berth, air travel to Ushuaia, expedition clothing, and insurance (~$25,000 AUD).
But more importantly, your donations will help contribute to a global collaborative movement; by building a critical mass of women in STEMM, we can help ensure economies and societies are adaptable and resilient in the face of climate change and other challenges.
Fund one. Inspire many.
