Ellen Whyte

Multi award winning singer/songwriter/producer/educator

Ellen has been performing in Portland, Oregon for over 40 years. She holds the

record for fronting bands throughout the years. Ellen has four critically acclaimed

recordings of her original works. In addition, three recordings of cover tunes and

original works with her trio.

Ellen is known for her astonishing vocals, as she gracefully moves among genres

from blues to jazz to funk and ballads. Her percussive rhythm guitar playing is well

suited to her voice, as she plays solo, in duos, trios up to a full ten-piece band

complete with an "other worldly" horn section.

She's won numerous awards for her work, including consideration for three

Grammy awards; two in 1999 and one in 2009.

Speaking of such, the late Grammy award winning producer, Dennis Walker had

this to say after producing Ellen's third CD, "Standing at The Sunrise:" "She not

only sings like an angel, but brings her own styling and phrasing to every song that

is completely individual. Thank God for Ellen Whyte who is one of the last few

who can still sing blues and pop and jazz, and still stand up on a stage and sing big

band standards with the best of them"

Garry Meziere is an award winning guitarist

living in the heart of the Willamette Valley in

Oregon. His career had spanned over 25

years playing clubs and festivals throughout

the Pacific Northwest. Garry is also a

respected guitar instructor in the area.

Garry joined forces with power house vocalist

Ellen Whyte in 1995. A formidable writing

partnership that led to four award winning

CD's, two Grammy nominations and seven

Muddy Awards from the Cascade Blues

Association.

Garry continues to perform with a number of

groups throughout the Willamette Valley and continues teaching guitar and writing music.
