About this Event

This is the fourth session of a five-part series: Maximizing Board Effectiveness Through all Stages of the Nonprofit Life Cycle. You do not need to attend all five sessions, but each session will build on content from the previous sessions. This series is ideal for present board members and leadership staff, as well as those who are curious to learn more.

Frequently it is unclear exactly what is expected of individual board members to support the sustainability of their non-profit organization. Often, the expectation of board members is for staff to do the fundraising, while the expectation from staff is for the board to fundraise. Whose responsibility is it? This misalignment can lead to unclear expectations and internal conflict.

Join Des Worthington and Megan Motil in the fourth of five sessions that will explore how to maximize board effectiveness through all stages of the nonprofit life cycle. In this session you will explore the fundraising expectations of boards and staff depending on their organization’s life cycle stage.

About the Series:

This series, comprising five in-person sessions, aims to equip your board with practical tools to enhance its strategy in advancing your nonprofit's mission towards success, focusing on a different strategy in each session. All sessions will take place at and a light lunch will be provided for all sessions.

Please arrive by 11:45 am to allow time to grab a bite to eat and network. The programs will start promptly at 12 pm and will comprise of about 30 minutes of content with the remaining time for questions and interaction with the facilitators and peers. The sessions will end at 1 pm, but feel free to stick around afterwards to network and get additional questions answered.
