Elevate Together was born from event curator, Elijah Red not waiting for someone’s approval to accept him as an artist into their store or gallery. He took back his power and created his own events where artists would be judged based on the merit of their work and professionalism and not discriminatory criteria. And where artists could showcase their work at no cost and the city of Oakland could enjoy and attend Elevate Together at no cost.
