About this Event

Elders Council of Newcastle – 25th Anniversary Legacy Book Launch

The Elders Council of Newcastle is delighted to invite you to the launch of our legacy book, created as part of our 25th anniversary celebrations and supported by Newcastle Cultural Investment Funding.

This project is celebrating Newcastle’s older voices and lived experiences, connecting generations through storytelling and film. The book captures stories of place, heritage, and everyday life, aiming to challenge ageist narratives and contribute to a more age-friendly and age-proud Newcastle.

Be one of the first to be given access to this publication.

The launch event marks the culmination of this work and will include an introduction to the project, readings from the book by contributors, and the screening of a short film produced alongside the book. Copies of the book will be available to purchase. Refreshments will also be available.
This project sits at the heart of the Elders Council’s pillars, Connect, Activate and Influence, and we would be honoured to share this moment with you, whether you have been involved in the project, supported our work over the years, or simply wish to celebrate Newcastle’s older voices.

Please feel free to share this invitation with others who may be interested.

We hope you can join us to celebrate 25 years of the Elders Council of Newcastle and the powerful stories that shape our city.
