Help Us Preserve Traditional Herbal Knowledge
Do you remember the herbal remedies your parents or grandparents used to use?
Earlier this year, we met with people aged 60 and over to collect traditional herbal knowledge that has been passed down through generations. We spoke with gardeners in village squares, herbalists on coastal cliffs, and older adults in their homes. We also gathered memories and experiences through both face to face and online workshops.
The project brought together stories and knowledge from Malta, Romania, and Latvia with the aim of preserving this valuable heritage for future generations.
Using the memories, stories, and feedback shared by participants, we have now created a free website dedicated to traditional herbal wisdom. The website acts as a digital memory bank, helping to safeguard this knowledge and make it accessible to everyone.
We are now inviting members of the public to help us test the website and share their feedback.
Join us for a free workshop in Valletta on Saturday 11th July from 9:30am to 11:00am. Participants will have the opportunity to explore the website, learn more about the project, and help us improve the platform before its wider launch.
Free refreshments will be provided.
