Hailed by Time Out Chicago as a jazz dynamo and a gem in the city's vocal jazz scene, Elaine has captivated audiences at esteemed jazz venues from coast to coast. Elaine's performances have graced the legendary Rainbow Room in New York City, the 2015 Chicago Jazz Festival, and Herb Alpert's Vibrato Jazz Grill in Los Angeles, to name but a few. Grammy-winning jazz critic Neil Tesser, author of The Playboy Guide to Jazz, said, Dame has risen to the top ranks of Chicago jazz singers. She possesses all the musicality you could want in a true jazz vocalist: centered intonation, an enviable command of rhythm, and a translucent but powerful instrument.
Reminiscing: A Journey Through Jazz and Nostalgia: Dame's third recording, Reminiscing, marks an exciting departure from traditional vocal jazz, breathing new life into the genre with innovative arrangements that pay homage to the diverse musical landscape of the 1970s. By reinterpreting iconic tracks such as Bill Withers' Use Me, Donna Summers' Last Dance, and Pink Floyd's Wish You Were Here, the album navigates a variety of musical styles, from soul to disco to rock. This fusion allows listeners to experience these classic songs in a new context, highlighting the emotional depth and storytelling inherent in jazz.
