The 2025 Mee-Ow Show

Founded in 1974, Mee-Ow Comedy is Northwestern University's premiere sketch and improv group, and the longest-running student comedy show in the country. In the Winter Quarter, Mee-Ow produces two original comedy shows that are, as we lovingly advertise, ⅓ sketch, ⅓ improv, and ⅓ rock and roll.  

Our cast writes sketches through a rigorous workshopping process, and performs a selection of them in the show. Interspersed throughout are short-form improv games, played by the cast. Additionally, a live band underscores the show and transforms our intermission into a dance party, where audience members can stretch their legs and break it down. 

Mee-Ow has an impressive list of alumni, including Seth Meyers, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, and Kristen Schaal. The organization provides a strong network for members who wish to pursue a career in the arts and entertainment. Alumni have credited Mee-Ow for teaching them the fundamentals of sketch comedy, preparing them for the rigorous schedule of Saturday Night Live, and for inspiring the improv television show, Who’s Line is it Anyway?
