Ekka Country Music Showdown 2026
The Ekka Country Music Showdown is the ultimate search for Australia’s next country music star, returning in 2026 as part of Ekka’s 150th anniversary.
Artists aged 12 and over will take to the stage at the XXXX Stockmen’s Bar & Grill, performing live in front of Ekka crowds and industry professionals.
There are two categories:
Junior (12–17 years) and Open (18+ years), with a prize pool valued at over $80,000.
More than just a competition, the Showdown offers a genuine pathway into the industry, with opportunities including performances, recording sessions, professional development workshops, and media exposure. Past winners have gone on to national success, including Toyota Star Maker titles and major festival performances.
