Educational Neuroscience Policy Research Centre (ENPRC) Launch Event
About this Event
Join us for the Educational Neuroscience Policy Research Centre (ENPRC) Launch Event!
Educational neuroscience is a transdisciplinary field that sits at the intersection of cognitive neuroscience, developmental psychology and education. Its goal is to understand how the brain learns, and to design better learning environments and educational outcomes across the lifespan.
The ENPRC is funded by the Department for Education and builds on 18 years' experience in educational neuroscience by the Centre for Educational Neuroscience (CEN) at the UCL Institute of Education (IOE) and Birkbeck College, University of London. The ENPRC consortium unites world-leading expertise in educational neuroscience across nine universities, as well as observer members and stakeholders, to inform policymakers with robust evidence.
The ENPRC will serve as a national hub, addressing pressing policy-relevant questions in learning and education. Our research will synthesise evidence to identify which interventions are most effective for different SEND groups across development, and investigate how cognitive, biological and genetic information can help us better understand learning in early years, inform support for parents and carers, and guide educational and developmental outcomes. This work will also explore the impact of AI-enhanced technology in home and school learning environments, how to give children the best possible start in the early years and how evidence from educational neuroscience can be translated into effective educational practice through collaborations with practitioners.
It’s a great chance to connect, learn, and celebrate the start of something exciting.
