About this Event
With spring comes an abundance of edible greens (and blooms). It is always with such excitement to find the first nettles starting to pop up and then the dandelions and cleavers and chickweed and so much more! Many of these wonderful plants pop up as weeds in our gardens. These nutritious spring greens are great to add into your meals as well as helpful for supporting our bodies during this seasonal transition. Our systems can get a bit sluggish through the winter and these greens can nourish and boost up the body and support gentle detoxification.
Come join me for some time with these lovely spring plants like nettles, dandelion, cleavers, violets, chickweed and more! We will do some basic identification, chat about the various ways to use these plants as food and medicine, and have a kitchen demo.
We will spend most of the class outside with the plants and then make one or two things to try with the plants available. Participants will go home with some recipes to try out as well and ideas of how to incorporate these wild foods into their kitchens and medicine cabinets.
