The Award Winning Eddleston Water Project
Natural Flood Management Site Visit and Tweed Forum Discussion
This is a whole day event, leaving Stirling at 9am and returning by 5pm. We will put on a free bus to take you to Peebles for a visit to this excellent example of natural flood management and river restoration.
Tweed Forum will lead the visit to explore the restoration work and the extensive monitoring being undertaken as part of Scottish Government’s long-running study of the effectiveness of a catchment approach to river restoration utilising a range of natural flood management (NFM) methods.
Recognised by UNESCO as the UK’s first Ecohydrology Demonstration site and winner of multiple awards, the study begun in 2010 is providing a wealth of evidence for the best ways to design and deliver NFM and associated habitat restoration across a 69km catchment in the Scottish Borders.
