Join us for a show with weekend organist for the New York Yankees, Ed Alstrom. Ed will bring an organ and play the most popular and requested songs from his Yankee Stadium pre-game spots. He will also talk about and demonstrate material played on the organ during the game.Ed Alstrom grew up in Ridgewood and began playing the family Hammond organ at age five. He studied organ performance at Westminster Choir College while performing in rock bands, disco lounges, churches, and many other musical settings throughout New Jersey. Over his career, Alstrom performed with legendary artists including Bette Midler, Chuck Berry, Herbie Hancock, and Steven Van Zandt, while also contributing to several Broadway and Off-Broadway productions.
In 2004, he fulfilled a lifelong dream by becoming the weekend organist at Yankee Stadium, carrying on the tradition of legendary Yankees organ music after admiring it since childhood. In addition to teaching music and directing choirs, he continues performing theater organ concerts across New Jersey, including appearances with the Garden State Theater Organ Society.
