Taking place at South Street on the 2nd Friday of every month, Reading’s Poets’ Café LIVE brings the very best guests from around the UK alongside an open mic section for local poets to read their work in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
Our guest poet on 12th June will be Ali Lewis.
As part of the Reading Climate Festival we would also like to invite open mic readers to share poetry on the topic of the climate crisis or environment more generally. Open mic performers are welcome to read their own work or share a ‘cover’ poem by a favourite writer. Twenty open mic slots are available to seasoned poets and newcomers alike on a first-come-first-served basis. We welcome poets to read one A4 page or equivalent (approximately 2 minutes) of their best work.
Open mic spaces are limited in number so do arrive promptly if you hope to read!
