The first musical by Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber to be produced for the professional stage, Jesus Christ Superstar has wowed audiences for over 50 years. The rock opera follows the last week of Jesus' life, as told through the eyes of Judas Iscariot. The story, told entirely through song, explores the personal relationships and struggles between Jesus, Judas, Mary Magdalene, his disciples, his followers and the Roman Empire. AUDITIONS: Prepare a 60 second cutting from any Broadway or rock song. Bring your accompaniment.
ROLES: 6 male and 1 female adult leads and a singing/dancing ensemble of 6 male and 6 female adults. The show will also feature an adult vocal ensemble of 15 adults.
REHEARSALS: Generally 2-3 nights per week Monday through Thursday from 7pm-9:30pm with some weekend dance or music rehearsals starting January 14.
PERFORMANCES: 7 public performances March 26-29, April 2-4 at The Oxford in a unique thrust seating configuration.
