Join us for the last concert of the season for the ECCS featuring Cameron & The Saltwater BrassCameron Handel has been playing professionally for nearly 20 years. After studying classical performance at The University of Georgia, and completing a degree in Jazz Studies at The College of Charleston, she went on to secure a spot in the Broadway hit, “Blast!” Cameron worked her way up to a featured soloist in both Blast! And Blast 2-“M.I.X.” (Music in Extreme). After spending several years touring North America and Japan with those shows, she auditioned for, and was selected to back Michael Bolton. Cameron spent 5 years touring the world (47 countries) and learning the ropes of the industry. She has shared the stage with Adele, Seal, Michael Bolton, Davy Jones, Smokey Robinson, and several other big-name artists. Currently, Cameron is a member of The Charleston Jazz Orchestra and has loved her time with that organization. She occasionally subs with The Charleston Symphony Orchestra and loves to get back to her classical roots. Cameron maintains a very successful private trumpet studio in the Charleston area. Her students consistently place in the All State band, orchestra, and jazz bands, as well as The Honor Band of America concert and jazz bands. Cameron enjoys being a bandleader of her group, “Cameron & The Saltwater Brass.” She and her family have played around town and at regional music festivals as The Handel Family Band. Cameron also enjoys being on the Music Team at Christ Church Anglican. When she isn’t playing trumpet or teaching lessons, Cameron enjoys playing ukulele and singing with her 2 daughters and husband.
