In honor of International Women’s Day, we are holding “Radical Empathy: Patch Making,” led by local artists Alexandra Sosin and Cate Thomding.
We will begin our time together with a discussion on radical empathy - moving beyond “walking in another’s shoes” and sharing ideas that help us ask questions and explore the answers through art.
Each attendee will have the choice between hand-making a patch or a brooch using paints, stamps, embroidery materials, beads, and found objects.
Both artists will be available to share their knowledge of creating with fabrics, and hand-sewing instruction will be available.
If you have an item you want to patch, or a piece of fabric you’d like to turn into a patch, feel free to bring it along! The artists will be available to help you with any machine-sewing you may need.
Due to limited seating, RSVP is required. Tickets include use of all art club materials.
