The Tudors decorated their homes at Easter with fresh greenery like rushes and flowers to symbolize renewal, rebirth and the advent of Spring. It was the time of year to celebrate the natural elements, to bring the outside inside to welcome the arrival of Spring and warmer days. This March at the Mary Rose Museum, we will be making Easter Wreaths that can be hung on your front door – they can also be used as a table decoration with a pillar candle – an ideal centrepiece for Easter Sunday feasting. Tickets cost £60, and we will supply everything you need for our 90-minute workshop, and you can even find inspiration in our award-winning museum beforehand!
This could be a perfect gift for your Mum (Mothering Sunday is 15th March), and the ideal opportunity to spend some time together being creative and making a personal and beautiful Easter decoration.
