The Town of Taos Events Department, the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) Council #78, Super Save Discount Food Store, Taos Ski Valley, and Walmart invite the community to join us for the Fourth Annual Easter Eggstravaganza, a free, family-friendly celebration taking place on Easter Eve, Saturday, April 4, 2026, from 11:30 AM to 2:30 PM at Red Willow Park.
This exciting community event promises a fun-filled afternoon for all ages. Families can enjoy a variety of activities, games, giveaways, and community booths hosted by local organizations, including Acutetremonts Body Art, Calvary Taos, Color Me Radical LLC, Desert to Summit Church, Harwood Museum of Art, L & N First Aid & Safety / Erica Parraz, providing first aid and safety, New Mexico State Police, Help Outreach Taos and Navi, Rio Grande / Recovery Friendly, Rocky Mountain Youth Corps Youth Coalition, Taos Behavioral Health, Taos Fire Department, Taos Mountain Casino, Taos Ski Valley, Inc., and the Town of Taos Police Department and Walmart.
A special highlight of the day includes a visit from Trixie the Easter Bunny who will be available for photos and handing out free Easter Bunny Bags filled with treats to the first 400 children. Families can also enjoy a unique photo experience with a vintage-inspired open-air photo booth.
The highlight of the day is our large Easter Egg Hunt for children ages 1 to 12 featuring over 20,500 filled eggs, along with rubber ducks and small sports balls. To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants, the egg hunts will be divided into four age groups:
• Ages 1 to 3 at 1:00 PM in the T-Ball Field
• Ages 4 to 6 at 1:30 PM in the Main Baseball Field
• Ages 7 to 9 at 1:50 PM in the T-Ball Field
• Ages 10 to 12 at 2:00 PM in the Main Baseball Field
All participants are encouraged to arrive on time as each hunt will begin promptly at its scheduled time. Be sure to bring a basket or container to collect eggs and prizes. For safety and to ensure a fair experience for all participants, we ask that parents do not enter the hunt areas for older age groups and allow children to collect eggs on their own.
Each hunt will include brightly colored eggs filled with candy, toys, and special prize tickets along with fun surprises such as rubber ducks and sports balls. Easter baskets and additional large prizes will be awarded in each age group.
IMPORTANT: After each hunt, participants must check their eggs for prize tickets and redeem them at the Prize Booths before leaving Red Willow Park. All prizes must be claimed by 2:30 PM. Tickets cannot be redeemed after this time.
New this year – barbequed hot dogs and refreshments.
Music and announcements will be provided by DJ Chicharron from Native Winds Radio creating a lively and festive atmosphere throughout the event. Families are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets to relax and enjoy the celebration.
Free parking will be available at Red Willow Park, TCA parking lots, Municipal Court/Civic Center, Town Hall, and the Taos Public Library. ADA-accessible parking will be available at the park entrance.
In the event of inclement weather, the Easter Eggstravaganza will transition to a drive-through format at Red Willow Park, allowing families to safely pick up eggs, prizes, and goodies from their vehicles.
