Join us to celebrate trailblazing women in speculative fiction!Third Place Books, Third Place Commons, and Clarion West present an evening honoring the legacy of Black feminist science fiction luminary—and Lake Forest Park local!—Octavia Butler. Festivities will include an art unveiling followed by light refreshments, music inspired by Parable of the Sower, readings from featured authors, and an open mic in the Third Place Commons.
Community members are invited to share original essays, poetry, and short fiction inspired by the works of Octavia Butler, Ursula K. Le Guin, Vonda N. McIntyre, and other feminist authors of science fiction and fantasy. Featured readers will include Amber Flame, Rashida J. Smith, and Imani Sims.
