The ODNR Division of Geological Survey invites Ohioans to participate in Earth Science Summer in celebration of America 250 and the Collaborative Summer Library Program’s 2026 theme: “Unearth a Story.”
In collaboration with Ohio State Parks and the Kelleys Island Schools Field Station, we invite you to “Unearth a Story” about Kelleys Island. All programs will begin at the world-famous Glacial Grooves Geological Preserve for an examination of the island’s natural and cultural history.
AGENDA
-10:00 AM–12:00 PM – Hiking tour of glacial grooves, rock crusher building, alvar shore, and fossil collecting at pebble beach.
-10:00 AM–2:00 PM – Visit the Geological Survey tent for fun activities, free literature, and more.
The event is free and open to all ages.
