E-Motion 8-Week Grief Movement Group (Walking Group)

Who we are:

The E-Motion Movement Community is a movement-based grief group for anyone enduring a life-altering loss. Once per week, we come together for a walk and gently guided grief prompts. We go through intentional grief practices, inviting us to move with the hardest things as opposed to moving away from them. Our group will foster a community where otherwise there is often isolation.

What to expect: The movement group combines three core aspects that we move through together over the course of the 8-week experience: a weekly email, a weekly group walk, and a culmination event at the end of the 8-weeks.

Details: We will be meeting every Sunday for 8 weeks starting on April 6th, from 11am-1 pm, at Point Defiance in Tacoma, Washington.

Culminating Event: At the end of our experience, we come together for a culminating walk to honor and move with our people, and have a special ritual celebration to commemorate the journey that we walked together.

Please note: Signing up here on Meetup is the first step in the group registration process. A supportive telephone call to assess needs and determine if the group is the right fit is required. I want to make sure that the group will be the right fit for everyone. The group will be meeting online via Zoom one week prior to the start of the group so that group members can meet one another before we head out on our weekly walks. This one-time online group gathering will be held on Sunday, March 30th, from 11am-12noon. Group members will be committing to an 8-week group where we meet every Sunday from 11am-1pm starting on Sunday, April 6th, 2025.
