About this Event
Dīkṣitham - A Cultural Confluence
Join us for an evening of Indian classical dance, curated and directed by Kalamandalam Supriya Sudhakar.
This event is a "confluence" of two Indian classical dance traditions: the lyrical, swaying grace of Mohiniyattam and the dynamic, geometric precision of Bharathanatyam. These two distinct styles will be woven together to interpret the spiritual and musical depth of Sri Muthuswāmī Dīkṣithar's kritis.
Celebrating a 250-Year Legacy
2026 commemorates the 250th Birth Anniversary of Sri Muthuswāmī Dīkṣithar, a titan of the Carnatic music trinity. Known for his intellectually profound and soul-stirring compositions, Dīkṣithar’s music remains a cornerstone of Indian heritage.
Dance for a Cause: Community Fundraiser
At its heart, Dīkṣitham is a mission-driven event. This event serves as a Community Fundraiser to support local outreach initiatives and programs in the California Bay area. By purchasing a ticket, you are directly contributing to the well-being of our local neighbors; 100% of net proceeds from ticket sales will be dedicated to community support and local welfare projects.
