Discover the beauty of traditional Filipino woven mat designs! Join Artist and Author Kenneth Tan for a beginner-friendly class for adults and teens on drawing banigs, the traditional woven mats of the Philippines. Explore a variety of line patterns inspired by Filipino weaving and tattoo designs. Apply the patterns to create their own unique banig illustration. A calming and creative activity perfect for all skill levels—no drawing experience required. Registration is not required, and seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
This program is part of Livermore Public Library's Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Heritage Month (AANHPI) celebration.
