Celebrate the Day of the Dead with Huehca Omeyocan and Valentina Ortiz!
With celebrated author Valentina Ortiz, explore through story and song how the ancient Aztec people celebrated Death with dance, food, and festivals. Learn about how the famous Catrina was born in Veracruz, and how each element of an ofrenda (altar) has a purpose.
Huehca Omeyocan will share the significance of the holiday through a traditional dance and drumming showcase. It’s the perfect evening to both celebrate Día de Los Muertos and learn more about its importance and Indigenous origins.
This is a free performance. No tickets required – walk-up only.
