🌊☀⛵🏘 FECAMPNichée entre deux falaises, crayeuses, culminant à une hauteur de 125 mètres, elles offrent un splendide écrin pour cette cité classée « Ville d’Art et d’Histoire » .Avec ses monuments, son front de mer, sa lumière, Fécamp a attiré de nombreux impressionnistes, notamment Eugène Boudin, Berthe Morisot, Claude Monet se sont laissé séduire par les charmes de la Cité Fécampoise.Venez découvrir à votre tour :

• Magnifique panorama du haut des falaises de Fécamp

• Port de Fécamp & ses estacades de boisLes estacades sont ces sortes de longues jetées construites sur pilotis. Elles sont dites à clair-voie car elles laissent passer l'eau. Il semblerait que dès le 18e siècle, Vauban avait fait réaliser des estacades dans le port de Fécamp. Mais celles-ci datent du 19e siècle lorsque le port est élargi. Aujourd'hui les estacades sont appréciées des visiteurs pour se balader dans le port, mais à l'origine, ce sont des chemins de halage. À leur arrivée dans le port, les navires étaient tractés jusque dans l'avant-port.

• Maisons des pêcheurs le long du port et leur chapelle sur la falaise, avec les bateaux votifs

• Palais-Distillerie Bénédictine, monument à l'architecture insolite (néo-romane & néo-renaissance), qui vous invite à la découverte d'une histoire et d'un produit. C'est dans ce site d'exception qu'est élaborée depuis plus d'un siècle la liqueur Bénédictine, exportée dans le monde entier.

En 1863, Alexandre Le Grand, négociant en vins de Fécamp et grand collectionneur d'art, retrouve un grimoire datant d'avant la Révolution. Parmi d'autres recettes, y est consignée celle, plutôt énigmatique, de l'élixir de Dom Bernardo Vincelli, un bénédictin vénitien de la Renaissance, qui a séjourné à l'Abbaye de Fécamp. Patiemment, il déchiffre la précieuse formule dans laquelle se marient la myrrhe avec le genièvre, le safran avec l'écorce de citron. L'exposition « parcours d'essences» présente quelques-unes des 27 plantes et épices qui composent Bénédictine : cardamome, noix de muscade, angélique, coriandre, clou de girofle, myrrhe, cannelle... Les infusions et les distillations des épices s'opèrent dans de gros alambics de cuivre martelé. Les caves renferment les différents mélanges et alcoolats qui vieillissent et reposent dans les foudres de chêne centenaire. Le Palais Bénédictine renferme aujourd'hui trois centres d'intérêt :

- Une collection d'objets d'art religieux des XVème et XVIème siècles, présentés dans une succession de salles néo-gothiques et néo-renaissance tels qu'ils étaient au début du siècle.

- Une distillerie dans laquelle s'élabore la célèbre liqueur.

- Une galerie d'art contemporain.

• L'abbatiale de la Sainte

-Trinité & derrière l'abbatiale, les vieux quartiers témoignent du riche passé de Fécamp.

• Palais des ducs de Normandie

• "Petit Parc" & son monument aux marins

🌊☀⛵🏘 FECAMPNestled between two chalk cliffs, culminating at 125 meters, they offer a splendid setting for this city classified as "City of Art and History".

With its monuments, its seafront, its light, Fécamp has attracted many impressionists, in particular Eugène Boudin, Berthe Morisot, Claude Monet who let themselves be seduced by the charms of the Cité Fécampoise.Come and discover:

• Magnificent panorama from the top of the Fécamp cliffs

• Port of Fécamp & its wooden boomsBooms are these kinds of long piers built on stilts. They are said to be split-rail because they let water through. It seems that as early as the 18th century, Vauban had commissioned booms in the port of Fécamp. But these date from the 19th century when the port was enlarged. Today the booms are appreciated by visitors for strolling in the port, but originally, they were towpaths. Upon their arrival in the port, ships were towed to the outer harbor.

• Walk on the dike, up to the Fécamp lighthouse

• Fishermen's houses along the port and their chapel on the cliff, with votive boats

• Fisheries Museum

• Palais-Distillerie Bénédictine, monument with unusual architecture (neo-Romanesque & neo-renaissance), inviting you to discover a story and a product. It is in this exceptional site that Benedictine liqueur, exported worldwide, has been produced for more than a century.

In 1863, Alexandre Le Grand, wine trader in Fécamp and great art collector, found a grimoire dating from before the Revolution. Among other recipes, there is the rather enigmatic recipe of the elixir of Dom Bernardo Vincelli, a Venetian Benedictine of the Renaissance, who stayed at the Abbey of Fécamp. Patiently, he decrypts the precious formula associating myrrh with juniper, saffron with lemon peel. The exhibition «Parcours d'essences» presents some of the 27 plants and spices that make up Bénédictine: cardamom, nutmeg, angelica, coriander, cloves, myrrh, cinnamon... The infusions and distillation of the spices take place in large hammered copper stills. The cellars contain the different mixes and alcoholates which age and rest in the more than one century old oak casks. The Benedictine Palace today presents three centers of interest:

- A collection of objects of religious art from the 15th and 16th centuries, presented in a succession of neo-Gothic and neo-renaissance rooms as they were at the beginning of the century.

- A distillery in which the famous liqueur is made.

- A contemporary art gallery.

• The Abbey of the Holy Trinity & behind the abbey, the old districts testify to the rich past of Fécamp.

• Palace of the Dukes of Normandy

• "Petit Parc" & its monument to sailors
