About this Event
DÍA DE MUERTOS COMMUNITY GATHERING
Sunday, November 1, 2026
3:00–5:00PM—Altar Decoration and Placement
5:00–8:30PM—Ceremony and Community Celebration
On November 1, Metabolic Studio will hold space to honor our loved ones during Día de Muertos. Join us for a community gathering co-hosted by Marcos Aguilar and Anawakalmekak, where we’ll share offerings, stories, and traditions as we come together to honor those who came before us.
Milli Macen-Moore and Wendy Isabella Escobar Procopio will lead hands-on workshops exploring the traditions of Día de Muertos. Together, we’ll make paper cempasúchil (marigold) flowers and decorate papier-mâché calaveras (skulls). These handmade offerings can be placed on the community altar or taken home to create an altar of your own.
The altars will also be open for public viewing during , our printmaking studio on Monday, November 2, from 5:00-8:00PM. They’ll remain on view through our final REIMAGINE of 2026 on Monday, December 7.
