In a time of noise, division, and global tension, Dreaming Our World Into Being invites us to slow down, listen deeply, and reconnect with our capacity to imagine, and embody—a more peaceful, beautiful, and loving world.
Join soprano and sound artist Rush Dorsett and pianist Stephen Aber for an intimate, immersive musical experience weaving together classical and contemporary vocal music, piano, crystal singing bowls, poetry, improvisation, and moments of reflection.
Rather than simply attending a concert, you’re invited into a journey.
Through sound, silence, and shared presence, we’ll explore how music can open the heart, awaken the imagination, and help us reconnect with what we want to bring into being, both within ourselves and in the world around us.
The evening will move through themes of beauty, memory, complexity, hope, and love, with music by Jonathan Dove, Gabriel Fauré, Giacomo Puccini, Johannes Brahms, Benjamin Britten, Charles Gounod, Dominick Argento, Claude Debussy, Sergei Rachmaninoff, Joni Mitchell, Luigi Dallapiccola, Edith Piaf, Francesco Sartori / Lucio Quarantotto, George David Weiss / Bob Thiele, and more.
Playful improvisation, crystal bowls, voice, and piano will weave the program together, creating space not only to hear the music, but to experience it more deeply.
About the Artists
Rush Dorsett is an accomplished lyric coloratura soprano, vocal coach, and sound artist whose work bridges classical music, contemporary expression, improvisation, and sound healing. Known for her silvery yet warm tone and authentic stage presence, Rush is passionate about exploring the voice as a pathway to creativity, connection, and embodied expression.
She has performed across the United States and internationally, including in Canada, England, Austria, Colombia, Italy, and Spain. She received her master’s degree in voice from New England Conservatory in Boston, where she performed leading opera roles and premiered new works for soprano.
Stephen Aber has been making music in churches, schools, and concert halls since 1996. A pianist with a passion for music of all genres, and especially for improvisation, Stephen creates performances that invite curiosity, participation, and connection. His playing spans everything from classical and sacred music to jazz, spontaneous composition, and even the occasional surprise.
Together, Rush and Stephen invite you into an evening that asks:
